Hello! My name is Sofia Romualdo and I’m a senior game systems designer based in London, UK.

I currently work for Bossa Games on an unannounced project. Previously, I worked for Supermassive Games on Switchback VR (2023) as lead systems designer, and as a game designer for Ground Shatter on RICO London (2021) and Fights in Tight Spaces (2021).

I have 6 years of experience working on a variety of videogames for PC, consoles and mobile. I love creating cutting-edge, memorable games that combine elegant mechanics, immersive storytelling, and rich world-building.

Check out some of the videogames and real-world games I have worked on!

You can view my experience in more detail on my LinkedIn profile or by downloading my CV.

I recently won the Design Hero award at the Game Dev Heroes 2023 awards, and I was nominated for the Technical Innovation award at the MCV/Develop Women in Games Awards 2023.

In 2019, I completed my PhD in Location-Based Game Design at the University of Exeter. My project included research and development of different kinds of immersive games for museums, which I designed and produced in collaboration with several other creatives.

Come say hi to me on Twitter!

Whenever I’m not working on games, I am usually playing other games! I enjoy a variety of videogames, board games and LARP (which I also photograph – see examples here). I also love archery, film, TV and books, particularly anything fantasy, horror and sci-fi.
